This is Mark Victor Hansen’s (author of the “Chicken Soup” books) favorite poster for explaining chiropractic! Use it individually or in a class setting. Give patients a rubber band and have them put it on one of their fingers. Point out that the symptom is not evident right away but swollenness and discomfort presents itself after the interference has been there a while. Rubbing the finger may help relieve the symptom temporarily but won’t get rid of the cause (the rubber band). The rubber band is like a subluxation—an interference. Remove it and the body heals itself!
